The Challenge
A global venture investor was studying an East Asian e-commerce marketplace with $34.5 billion in 2025 revenue. Public reports gave only high-level figures. The investor needed product-level data across the whole catalogue to test its view of the market.
What We Did
- 01Collected listing data from about 460 product categories, four pages deep in each, about 1,840 category pages in total.
- 02Ran the collection at scale on our own systems, using the investor's collection tool.
- 03Monitored each run and re-ran categories that failed.
- 04Delivered clean, structured files to the investor's shared drive.
Value Delivered
- The investor saw the whole catalogue, not a sample.
- Their team spent time on analysis, not on collecting data.
- Category-level data showed where the marketplace leads and where it is thin.
